In 1991, Mrs. Blanche de Niverville invited some Marcil and Mercille to join her to found a Family Association.
Formed on June 11 of the same year, the founding committee organized a first event on November 16, 1991. A mass was then celebrated at the Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue co-cathedral in Longueuil to mark the 320th anniversary of André Marsil's marriage with Marie Lefebvre. A reception and an exhibition at the Maison André-Lamarre complete this day.
A second gathering took place in La Prairie on October 18, 1992. After a mass at the Church of the Nativity in La Prairie to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the birth of our ancestor André Marsil, a buffet was served in the Circé room in the Community Center followed by a visit to the museum and a guided tour of Old La Prairie.
The honorary patrons were Michelle Tisseyre and Guy Pratt, with the assistance of Edouard and Louise Doucet of the Longueuil Historical Society.
